Woodcrest Baptist Church is a New Testament Church that exists for the worship of the Lord Jesus Christ, the propagation of His Gospel into all the world, and the establishment of believers in Bible doctrine.
It is our endeavor to Exalt the Lord, Evangelize the lost, and Edify the child of God.
Through the preaching and teaching of God’s inspired Word, Woodcrest strives to maintain a distinctiveness that is separate from the world with a desire to develop Christlikeness in His people. At Woodcrest, we understand that the only way to heaven is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This relationship begins when a person places his faith and trust in the finished work of Christ on Calvary. Salvation is the result of repentance and faith without works. Following one’s salvation, the Bible teaches that we are to be in the process of sanctification. That is, day by day we are to be growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. By God’s grace and with His help, our vision is to reach our world with the Gospel message and to live out that message in our daily life and service
We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God; that Jesus is the only Savior and that He is able to meet every need of spirit, soul, and body (John 1:4). We believe there is a need in every Christian life for the fullness of the Holy Spirit to both empower and guide us into effective service for the Master (Acts 1:8). We believe in salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ (John 1:7); we believe in a life of holiness for every believer (Hebrews 12:14); we believe in the second coming of Christ (Acts 1:11).
What we would like most is for you to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour. What does that mean? A lot of Christians and churches assume that people know what all of the clichés that they use mean. The most simple approach to salvation or to the whole matter of religion is to read John 3:16. It really keeps it so simple and yet profound. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
The most important decision that anyone needs to make is to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. What does this mean? Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Jesus also said, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6). The reason that we need the salvation that is offered by Jesus is because we are sinners and only the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on Calvary, can wash away sin (Romans 3:10, 23; I John 1:7). We must come to Jesus just as we are, acknowledge our inability to save ourselves, repent of our sin, and trust Jesus alone for the forgiveness of sin.
God loves you. He died for you. He wants to save you (II Peter 3:9). A decision to accept Christ as Savior means eternal life with Him following this life. To reject His free offer of salvation means that you are choosing to pay for your own sins in an eternal lake of fire. I would urge you to accept Christ as your Savior today. You will be eternally grateful!
